Glendale Cops Who Beat A Teenager In A Store Forced To Be On Leave

A police siren.

After a video on social media showed Glendale Police Department officers kicking and punching a teenager, the department put the officers involved on leave. The video of this incident that happened in a location of Dick’s Sporting Goods shows one of those officers clad in uniform and three of them in plain clothes.

Singer Ernie G posted the video in question on Instagram and described the cops as Glendale’s gang members. It starts with the three non-uniform officers holding the suspect down and hitting him to restrain him. After that, the uniformed officer gets into the video frame before kicking the teenager in his head. The video shows the teenager saying that he cannot breathe and begging the officers to leave him alone. It also shows one of them asking the suspect to turn around his face while using the police status as a threat.

After that, more cops came to the spot clad in their uniforms to handcuff the suspect and then carry him away from the location. In response to the event, the Glendale Police Department said that the officers used force after a struggle followed their attempt to detain that suspect. He was arrested as a petty theft suspect who resisted an officer with physical power.
