School Officer In Long Beach Accused Of Killing Teenager

Former cop Eddie Gonzalez at a Long Beach educational institute allegedly shot teenager Manuela Rodriguez to death and is officially a murder accused. Los Angeles County DA George Gascón revealed the information about the accusation against 51-year-old Gonzalez, who is slated for arraignment on October 29, 2021.

In a recent press release, Gascón stated that it is important to hold a person placed in a position of trust accountable to keep others safe. As for Gascón, that accountability especially applies to the armed officers we have conventionally relied on to protect children during school commute and at school.

Onlookers filmed the event on September 27, 2021, as the man was engaged in an altercation with a teenager around Millikan High School. The footage shows what seemed like an officer reaching into a vehicle that the victim had entered following the altercation and then shooting her. People took her to a nearby medical facility and put her on life support, but she died of her injuries there.

Manuela Rodriguez’s cousin-in-law Yessica Loza stated that the organs of the victim were donated to save five people’s lives and then removed from life support.

Immediately after the event, the Long Beach Police Department stated that it was looking into it and that Gonzalez was terminated from his Long Beach Unified School District position.

In the recent past, the Department stated that it played no part in this shooting incident. The survivors of Rodriguez’s immediate family are her daughter, four brothers, and mother.
