Disneyland Parks Reinstate Indoor Mask Regulations

From July 30, 2021, there will be indoor mask regulations in place at Disney California Adventure Park and Disneyland Resort. The news follows the recommendation from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and the CDC on using masks in public areas indoors, irrespective of one’s vaccination status.

Park officials stated that they would adopt the guidelines on the basis of guidance from government and health officials. Disney Parkstaffers and guests aged 2 years and above will need to use face coverings when in every indoor location of Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World Resort, irrespective of their vaccination status. That means the regulation will apply to all of them, whether or not they are vaccinated, even when in Disney shuttles or buses.

The said products will also have to wholly cover the mouth, chin and nose of an individual. Masks cannot have visible valves, or mesh.

After mid-June 2021, the Disney amusement parks had tweaked their earlier mask mandates, which allowed vaccination confirmation for guests through self-attestation. This means the guests would not need to use masks. Besides, the amusement park had removed its physical distancing-related plexiglass dividers and floor markers.

California recommended indoor mask use, but it is still not mandatory. On the other hand, there is no mask mandate in Orange County, even as business locations may require their guests to use face masks.
