LAUSD Approves Vaccine Order For Students Aged 12 Years And Above

The Los Angeles Unified School District’s board approved a coronavirus vaccination-related ordinance for students who are aged 12 years and above. They must get their first vaccine dosage on or before November 21, 2021, and their second dosage by December 19, 2021, and wait 14 days to be deemed fully vaccinated.

If one of them is part of school sports, then October 30, 2021, would be the last date for full coronavirus vaccination.

LAUSD Board of Education member Kelly Gonez stated that the approval furthers LAUSD’s long-time commitment to confirm that its students, staff and families are safe. As for Gonez, vaccination is the best way of keeping schools and students safe from coronavirus disease. LAUSD is still committed to offering those families reliable medical details about the safe and effective vaccine.

Students aged 16 years and above can get Pfizer’s, Johnson & Johnson’s or Moderna’s vaccine, but those aged between and including 12 and 15 years can only receive Pfizer’s vaccine now.

LAUSD requires all of its school staffers to get vaccinated on or before October 15, 2021, with the support of the union representing LAUSD teachers.
