Governor Gavin Christopher Newsom presented California’s endemic plan to live with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2, claiming that there is still no date on which the pandemic ends. With this in mind, California introduced the so-called SMARTER plan.

CalHHS Secretary Mark Ghaly stated that California has much immunity right now, besides knowledge of the way to combat coronavirus.
Ghaly drew attention to the importance of the day of the presentation, not since it represents the lifting of an important requirement. Newsom stated that California is moving beyond the crisis stage into a stage where it would learn how to live when the virus exists. Vaccine Shots
California plans on continuing to vaccinate residents in line with the guidelines of health officials. California has teamed up with hundreds of mobile clinics and community organizations to distribute coronavirus vaccine shots.
Ghaly stated that it is no longer about reaching immunity but rather about maintaining immunity.
