From August 19, 2021, Los Angeles County will enforce a mask ordinance for outdoor events with over 10,000 individuals. The ordinance will be applicable to not just sporting locations such as SoFi Stadium and Dodger Stadium but also concert venues like the Greek Theater and the Hollywood Bowl.
As with mask mandates in other US counties, people should wear face masks at all times except when consuming food, irrespective of their vaccination status.
The primary goal of the ordinance is to lessen the possibility of coronavirus disease transmission in the US county for everyone. It is likely to transmit between people when there is a lack of protective measures such as capacity limits and social distancing requirements. Further, people without full vaccination and immunocompromised individuals who are fully vaccinated are more at risk of coronavirus transmission.
The ordinance is effective from 11:59 pm on August 19, 2021.
